Trustworthy Job Websites For Freelancers

Hello!
Do you have any plans for the upcoming week? I’m dog sitting the cutest puppy ever, which is slightly distracting… but a lot of fun! He is currently asleep on my lap as I type, so I can get on with some blogging!
Today I thought I’d write about reputable job sites for people who work from home. There are so many websites with listings that look too good to be true – and they are normally all trying to rip you off!
Here are four sites I have used personally to help kick-start my career as a writer.
1. Fiverr
Fiverr is a great place for creative people who are first starting out. All jobs pay $5 – $4 after Fiverr takes commission. There are opportunities for writers, designers, transcriptionists, bloggers, musicians and lots of other things!

2. Elance
Elance is ideal for freelancers, especially website designers and bloggers. Payment is guaranteed and there are hundreds of different jobs advertised. Just like every other website on this list, Elance is totally free to join.

3. GigBucks
GigBucks is similar to Fiverr, but jobs can pay out up to $50, so you have the opportunity to earn more. GigBucks also comes with jobs for anyone, from Art to Health to Photography.

4. FiverUp
FiverUp is pretty similar to Fiverr, but with the chance to earn up to $100 per job. I actually really like this site as I think you get more bonuses for joining, with no withdrawal limits and free promotion of your job offers.
Do you know any other great sites for people who work from home? This list mainly covers blogging, design and writing positions, so I’d be interested to hear about sites advertising different jobs!

    A friend of mine recommended oDesk, what is your thought on them? Have you used them before?

      Hi Helen 🙂 I’m glad you found it useful! I havnen’t personally used oDesk but I know people who have accepted paid work through oDesk, so it’s worth checking out for sure 🙂 I hope everything is going swimmingly for you! xx

        Thanks! 🙂 I am still developing my writing skills via blogging and working on improving my WPM, because right now I am on 60-65WPM which isn’t really enough to apply for any transcription jobs yet.
        I’m also working as an ESL teacher, so when that contract finishes in June I’ll be able to focus on expanding into writing, transcribing, and freelancing more!
        You started working part-time first, right?
