6 Reasons To Love Spring

Every season comes with its own charms, but spring is certainly one of the most beautiful seasons. Summer is known for its warmth and winter is known for its cold beauty, but spring is known for being the season of life.

As the weather warms up, plants bloom and baby animals are born. Spring is filled with promise and wonder, so it is hard to decide what I like the most about the season – but there are lots of things to choose from.

Here are 6 reasons to love spring.

1. Longer Days

After months of darkness, the days finally are getting longer and the nights are getting shorter. It is wonderful to be able to travel to work and back in the light instead of the darkness, and the extra daylight definitely improves my mood. It is also much easier to get out of bed in the morning when it actually looks like the morning, instead of the middle of the night!

2. Flowering Trees (And Bees)

Nothing puts a smile on my face like a beautiful tree covered in delicate pink blossoms. It is like watching the world wake up from a 6 month nap. I also love watching the little bees buzz around as they gather nectar!

3. Outdoor Eating And Drinking

It’s always fun to go out for food and drinks with friends and family, but I always seem to have a much better time if we are sat outside in the sun. It seems like the sun puts everyone in a happier, more relaxed mood. I also think that orange juice tastes better when the sun is shining, but that might just be me.

4. Outside Exercise

I spend a considerable amount of time during winter in the gym. It’s just too cold and dark to exercise outside! However I actually prefer exercising outside. I think running through the park is much more stimulating that running on a running machine, and classes are much better when they are in the sunshine instead of a studio.

5. The Festivals

Spring is the season of festivals. I live in Britain, and I’ve already bought tickets to a music festival in Leeds and two local food festivals. I’m also hoping to check out some film festivals this year! Are you planning on going to any festivals?

6. Buttercups

I think that buttercups are one of my favorite flowers. I know that they are small and simple, but I love how bright they are, and I love how the sight of buttercups signals the beginning of spring and all its beauty. Although I do wish my dog would stop eating them.

20 Fun Fall Activities

I promise this is my last fall blog post. Maybe. Probably. I just love fall so much! Lame, I know.

One of the best things about fall is all the fun activities that come with it. The weather may be getting colder, but that is no reason to spend the next few months inside. There are lots of awesome (and cheap) things that you can do outside during fall!

Don’t worry – there are inside activities too. I love spending time inside on a cold, dark evening, especially if I have a mug of hot chocolate.

Here are 20 fun fall activities.

  1. Go for a walk through a forest or a wood as the leaves change color.
  2. Go apple picking.
  3. Go to a fall festival with someone you love.
  4. Visit a pumpkin patch.
  5. Carve pumpkins.
  6. Make something with pumpkin in it. (My personal favorites are pumpkin bread and pumpkin pie.)
  7. Bundle up warm and go to kick leaves in your local park.
  8. Go to a corn maze with your friends or family.
  9. Visit a spooky fairground.
  10. Fly a kite with your children (or nephews and nieces).
  11. Light some candles or the fire and watch a movie during a cold evening.
  12. Make toffee apples.
  13. Make homemade soup.
  14. Pick pinecones.
  15. Eat breakfast in bed (mostly because it is far too cold to eat it at the table).
  16. Make a scarecrow.
  17. Make mulled wine.
  18. Make warm apple cider.
  19. Go antiquing.
  20. Go to a haunted house.

What are you going to do on this list? Let me know with a comment! 🙂

10 Reasons To Love Fall

Fall is my favorite season; I love the colorful fallen leaves and the drop in temperature. I also really, really love Halloween! I can’t wait to start carving pumpkins and planning a Halloween party. I’ve never been the best at dressing up, but I plan on going all-out this year!

Here are 10 reasons to love fall.

  1. The leaves. The best part of fall is definitely the nature. I love watching the leaves turn red and brown and yellow, and listening to them crunch underneath my feat
  2. It is time to start drinking mulled wine again. I love mulled wine, it is the perfect seasonal drink!
  3. The sunsets. The sunsets in fall always seem to be the most beautiful and vivid.
  4. Fall television. I can’t be the only person who is looking forward to the return of the Walking Dead.
  5. Candles. I love lighting scented candles on cold evenings; they make your home feel cosy and they smell great.
  6. Halloween. Dressing up, going to parties with friends and family, candy – I love it all.
  7. Pumpkins. Pumpkin soup is one of my favorite soups. And carving pumpkins is always a lot of fun!
  8. Comfy clothes. Sweaters every day!
  9. The crisp, fresh air.
  10. Thanksgiving. I don’t actually live in America or Canada, but Thanksgiving does sound like an amazing holiday – the food looks so tasty.
