Most people want to be nice, but no-one wants to be TOO nice. People who are overly nice are often used by other people for their own personal gain, and they often struggle to stand up for themselves.
Check out 5 signs that show you are too nice.
1. You say sorry for things that aren’t your fault
Are you the kind of person who apologizes when someone else walks into you? Saying sorry implies you were at fault, so saying sorry when you did nothing wrong means you are choosing to take the blame anyway. Don’t apologize for things that are out of your control – instead, graciously accept the other person’s apology.
2. You often feel like a therapist
Your friends are always coming to you with their problems. This is a normal part of friendship and you shouldn’t begrudge your friends asking for advice, but there is a difference between looking for advice and simply complaining. You listen patiently and offer your friends sound advice – but they make no change, and they continue to complain to you anyway.
3. You hate saying ‘no’
Saying ‘no’ to others makes you feel rude and difficult, so you often say ‘yes’ when you don’t really mean it. From working overtime to doing favors, you often take on more than you handle to help others.
4. You always see the best in others
You trust nearly everyone in your life and you often don’t realize when someone has an ulterior motive. You are normally shocked or upset if you discover someone has been taking advantage of you even if it was clear to others.
5. You hate making decisions for a group
You never want to choose the restaurant or bar where you and your friends are going, and you start sweating when your boss asks for your advice. You don’t want to make a decision that someone else will be unhappy with, so you prefer to take a back seat and let everyone else decide.
Can you relate to any of these points? Do you think you are too nice? Let me know what you think with a comment! Hope everyone is having a great week 🙂
I hate making decisions so that point certainly applies to me. Number one and number three I have grown out of over the years. I guess I am less nice these days haha.

It’s a good post. Sounds like a people pleasing habit and majority of us have that habit, sadly though. We all need to stop trying to please or be nice at all cost to EVERYBODY. It’s a very frustrating burden to have to please everybody. It’s very important first of all to just be yourself and then please others only when you are comfortable with making the sacrifice.
The quote “if you live for people’s acceptance, you will die from their rejection” is attributed to LECRAE and I think it’s a good guide.
On the funny side, someone once said “You can’t make everyone happy. You’re not a Nutella jar”.
Best wishes!

These are all very true, there is certainly a balance that needs to be found. No one wants to be a doormat.
